I’m at Miffy’s birthday at Nijntje Museum

Nijntje – Miffy museum

The 21st of June 2015 Nijntje – outside Holland known as Miffy or ミッフィー in Japan – becomes 60 years. Miffi was born in Utrecht. The city in the centre of Holland. All over the world Nijntje is known as Miffy because the name Nijntje is so difficult to pronounce abroad. The  year 2015 is a very happy year for Utrecht. だから、2015年にオランダに来る。

Happy birthday Nijntje. Congratulations Miffy

Miffi’s birthday will be celebrated with lots of  festive events. Do not miss Miffy’s birthday party, it will be celebrated in 2015. Put June 21th in your agenda. Prepare yourself and you’re kids for a great party. The city Utrecht is already preparing a birthday party for a long time. It will be a party no child will ever forget. So come to Holland in 2015. We love it when you join us to celebrate Miffy’s birthday. From the airport of Schiphol you take a 30 minutes direct train to Utrecht.

Musical “Nijntje Viert Feest” also in China soon

One of the celebrations is the Musical “Nijntje viert feest”: the première will be sunday February 22 at the brand new Musical Center in Utrecht.  After that the musical will be touring through Holland.

We just heard the news that Miffi will also celebrate her birthday in China. The production of a Chinese version of the musical started in March 2015.

On this page we will keep you informed about all coming events. Check this  Playlist and find a nearby theatre in Holland where the musical is performed.

For this occasion there will be created a “Miffy Fountain” in front of the Central Museum. This fountain is designed by the Dutch artist Tom Sachs. The art work expresses a crying Miffy in a fountain. There will also be a complete exposition about the life of Miffy.

“Dick Bruna House” renamed “Nijntje Museum”

p class=”post-paragraph_featured-detail post-paragraph_first_featured-detail” style=”text-align: justify;”>Nijntje is created by Dick Bruna in 1955. Dick is a famous person in Utrecht. In 1955 his first book on Miffy was published. During half a century Dick published more than hundred  books on Miffy  in 57 languages. Miffy has its own museum called the “Dick Bruna House”. When you visit Utrecht you must visit Nijntje in the Nijntje museum, which is in the Museum Quarter. Since July 2015 the Dick Bruna House is renewed and temporarily closed, the museum will be renamed in “Nijntje Museum”. A grand Nijntje exposition is visitable in Centraal Museum just opposite the street. The new museum, open from 6 February 2016, is larger and the content is even better suited to families with young children.
A visit to the Miffy Museum is an active journey of discovery that children will never forget. Crawl, explore, sniff, dance: you learn so much more while you’re playing!

There are a lot of cute Nijntje movies in Dutch, English, Chinese, Japanese and other languages, you can buy them but some of them you can see for free on the internet. I like to show you some, here you find a collection of  Nijntje movies in the Dutch language.  Come and see the happy Miffy’s birthday movie in English.

Christmas time. Feliz Navidad Miffy!

Every year at Christmas time Miffy visits the Nativity. There she meets Jozef, Mary, the Wiz men and their camels, the Shepherds and the other animals in the stable surrounding baby Jesus. Just like Nijntje, you will find the nativity at Nijntje museum. Merry Christmas dear Miffy, or as we say in Dutch “Fijne Kerstdagen lieve Nijntje”.
