Make a Tompouce the easy way or at the traditional way
A Tompouce is made of puff pastry and custard pastry cream, topped with fondant or pink chocolate. To make it easily, you can use 4 slices of puff pastry from the supermarket, bake them in the oven as per the instructions. Prepare custard pastry cream using the provided recipe. Place custard pastry cream on two baked puff pastry slices, then cover with the remaining two slices. Optionally, add a layer of whipped cream on top of the custard. Finally, cover the top slice with melted pink chocolate or melted orange fondant.
Recipe Pastry cream, Custard, or as we say “Banketbakkersroom”
Ingredients:
500 grams of milk
50 grams of custard powder
50 grams of sugar. If you find sugar unhealthy or to sweet, use sweetener xylitol
1 vanilla pod
Mix the sugar, custard powder and a bit of the milk in a bowl. Scrapp the vanille for the pod, put in a pan togehter with the milk and cook it. Take the boiling milk from the heat. Slowly add small amounts of hot milk in the bowl with the custard mix and stir it well, until all the milk finished. Pour everything back into the pan, place the pan back on the heat, and let the cream cook well while stirring until it starts to thicken.
