King’s Day 2024 almost started, dressed up and get ready for a giant party
Did you get your outfit ready? Orange is the dress code for King’s Day 2024. Put a red, white, and blue stripe on your face, and get ready to party. In Utrecht, the King’s Day party starts on April 26th at 18.00 hours. On The Hague Malieveld, the party has started with a giant FunFair giving loads of people a very good time.

After 2 years of little to no festivities during the celebration of King Willem-Alexander because of the coronavirus pandemic. King’s Day was celebrated, as usual, this year in Maastricht. Maastricht turned out great and showed all the ins and outs of the city. Now that all restrictions have been removed, the Dutch again flocked to free markets, festivals, and other King’s Day events.
The king himself celebrated his 55th birthday in Maastricht, together with his wife Maxima and their 3 beautiful daughters, and a number of family members. King Willem-Alexander and the members of his family were welcomed on the bridge by the mayor of Maastricht, Annemarie Penn-te Strake, and the governor of Limburg, Emil Roemer. 44 children, representing the 44 Maastricht neighborhoods, reach the flowers. From the bridge, the family had a beautiful view of the boat fireplace with hundreds of boats and boats from the Maastricht water sports associations. After the bridge, the group turned left towards Vissersmaas and walked past the statue of the Mestrechter Geis, the spirit of Maastricht. Program Kingsday Maastricht 2022
The royal family danced to the music of internationally famous DJ couple Lucas and Steve. Admired a musical spectacle with the strings of the South Netherlands Philharmonic. Enjoyed a performance by the world-famous André Rieu. The Netherlands has many dialects and Maastricht also has its own dialect. The royal family was tested in this by means of a Maastricht language quiz. Willem-Alexander and Amalia struck a golden tenner during the festivities.
